1. Introduction

Welcome to IslamIQ Pro. This Privacy Policy explains how EigenThink AI L.L.C. ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards your information when you use our IslamIQ Pro mobile applications for Android and iOS and our website (collectively, the "Service").

IslamIQ Pro is an AI-powered Islamic companion application that provides prayer times, Quran reading, a Hadith library, AI-assisted religious Q&A, masjid features, and other Islamic content and tools.

By accessing or using IslamIQ Pro, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide Directly

Account information

You need an account to use the app. You sign in with your phone number and a one-time code sent by SMS, handled by Firebase Authentication (a Google service). Your phone number is stored encrypted in our database.

We do not collect an email address or a password for your account.

You can choose to add these profile details:

Full name and display name
Date of birth and gender
Country, city and time zone
Language
Madhab, prayer calculation method and related prayer preferences
Reading and audio preferences

What you create and do in the app

AI chat questions and your conversation history
Search history
Quran reading and listening progress
Bookmarks
Saved locations
Masjids you follow or block
Masjid claims: if you claim a masjid as its admin, we collect your name, role and phone number, and optionally an email address and address
Content reports you submit (see Section 2.5)

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

Location

With your permission, the app uses your device's location to calculate prayer times and the Qibla direction and to find masjids near you. Locations you save are stored with your account.

Device and technical information

Push-notification tokens (Firebase Cloud Messaging on Android, Apple Push Notification service on iOS) so we can send the notifications you turn on
Records of the consent choices you make
Signals used to prevent fraud and automated abuse
Subscription status, if you subscribe on iOS

Analytics and crash reports (these differ by platform)

iOS app: uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to collect usage events and crash reports.
Android app: does not include an analytics or crash-reporting SDK.
Website: uses Vercel Analytics, which counts page views in aggregate without cookies (see Section 2.6).

Advertising data collected by Google AdMob in both apps is described in Section 2.3.

2.3 Advertising (Google AdMob)

IslamIQ Pro is free and shows ads through Google AdMob. AdMob runs in both the Android and iOS apps. Both apps show banner and native ads in the feed and rewarded ads; the Android app also shows interstitial (full-screen) ads.

What AdMob collects

Your device's advertising ID (the Android advertising ID, or Apple's IDFA where you permit it)
Your IP address, and an approximate location derived from it
How you interact with ads
Diagnostic information

Google uses this information for advertising, measurement and analytics, and fraud prevention. When you watch a rewarded ad, the app passes Google an internal user identifier so that our server can confirm the reward.

Your choices

If you are in the EEA or the UK, or where the law requires it, the app shows a consent form (Google's User Messaging Platform) where you can accept or decline personalized ads.
On iOS, the app asks your permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt before it can use your IDFA.
Android: open Settings → Google → Ads (on some phones, Settings → Privacy → Ads) to reset or delete your advertising ID.
iOS: open Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

2.4 Microphone (Masjid Admins Only)

Only verified masjid admins use the microphone. An admin can broadcast the adhan live from their phone's microphone to the masjid's followers through Agora, our real-time audio provider. The audio is streamed live; we do not record or store it. Each broadcast is limited to 5 minutes.

2.5 Content Reports

You can report AI answers and masjid announcements. For moderation, we keep the reason you choose, any note you type, and a snapshot of the reported content. If you delete your account, the link between the report and you is removed.

2.6 Our Website

Analytics: Vercel Analytics counts page views in aggregate and does not use cookies.
Bot protection: our forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to stop automated abuse. This is strictly necessary for the forms to work.
Contact form: when you send a message, we store your name, email address, subject and message, along with your IP address and browser user agent.

The website does not use advertising cookies.

4. AI Data Practices

Important Notice About AI Features

Your AI questions are processed by our servers and by third-party AI providers: Anthropic, Google (Gemini) and OpenAI.

4.1 How AI Queries Are Processed

Your questions are processed by our servers and by the AI providers named above to generate an answer
AI responses are generated based on Islamic source texts

4.2 Your AI Conversation Data

Your conversation history is stored with your account so you can see it in the app
It is deleted when your account is deleted (see Section 7)
We do not sell your AI conversation data

4.3 AI Limitations

By using our AI features, you acknowledge that:

AI responses are for informational and educational purposes only
AI may produce errors, omissions, or inaccuracies
AI responses should not be treated as religious rulings (fatwa)
You should verify important religious matters with qualified scholars

5. How We Share Your Information

We don't sell your personal information for money.

Under California law, showing you personalized ads through Google AdMob can count as "sharing" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can opt out of this sharing by declining personalized ads in the in-app consent form where it is shown, by resetting or deleting your advertising ID, or by limiting tracking on iOS. See Section 2.3 for the steps.

5.1 Service Providers

We share information with service providers who help us run the Service:

Firebase (Google): Phone sign-in, push notifications, and analytics and crash reports in the iOS app
Google AdMob: Ads in the Android and iOS apps
Agora: Live adhan audio
AI providers (Anthropic, Google, OpenAI): Answering your AI questions
Cloud hosting and database providers: Running our servers and storing your data
Cloudflare: Bot protection on our forms
Vercel: Website hosting and analytics
Apple App Store: Subscription payments in the iOS app. Apple processes the payment; we do not receive your card details. The Android app has no in-app purchases.

5.2 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law or in response to court orders, government requests, or to protect our rights and safety.

6. Data Security

We use security measures including:

Encryption in transit: Data sent between the apps, the website and our servers uses TLS.
Encrypted phone numbers: Your phone number is encrypted in our database.
Access controls: Access to user data is restricted.

While we work to protect your information, no method of transmission over the Internet or of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Rights and Choices

Access and Correction

You have the right to access and correct the personal information we hold about you. To make a request, contact us.

Deleting your account

In the app: go to Settings → Delete account. Your account is switched off immediately. For 30 days you can sign in again and choose Restore. After 30 days it is permanently deleted (the deletion runs within about an hour of the deadline).

Without the app: send a request at islamiqpro.com/delete-account.

What is deleted:

Your profile and phone number
AI chat history
Search history
Bookmarks
Reading and listening history
Saved locations
Masjid follows, blocks and claims, including the contact details on a claim
Devices and notification tokens

What is kept, with the link to you removed:

Content reports, for moderation
Consent records, for legal reasons
Fraud and bot-prevention signals
App Store billing notices, for up to 365 days
A deletion request sent from the website, including the phone number and email you gave, as a record of the request

Backups expire on their normal schedule.

Advertising

You can limit how your information is used for ads as described in Section 2.3.

Notifications

You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings.

8. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights:

Right to Know: Request information about the personal information we collect.
Right to Delete: Request deletion of your personal information.
Right to Correct: Request that we correct inaccurate personal information.
Right to Opt Out of Sharing: Opt out of sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising by declining personalized ads in the in-app consent form where it is shown, resetting or deleting your advertising ID, or limiting tracking on iOS (see Section 2.3).
Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

To exercise your CCPA rights, contact us. We will respond within 45 days.

9. Children's Privacy

IslamIQ Pro is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete that information promptly.

10. International Data Transfers

Your information may be processed in the United States and in other countries where our service providers operate.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will tell you about changes by posting the updated policy on this page and, for material changes, notifying you in the app. Your continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
